Summer Reading Program
Our Summer Reading Program, Color Our World, will be held on July 9, 16, 23, and 30 from 10 am - noon this year and will be a little different from previous years. This year, we are focusing on reading and spending time with family and friends. Instead of different age groups coming at different times, children will come around 10:00 to choose books, read in fun spots around the library and outside to meet their reading challenge goals, create craft projects, and do activities with their grownups, siblings, and friends. Instead of dropping off the kids for an hour, the grown-ups will stay with their kids and are welcome to participate in activities as well. Although we will be ready to start crafts and activities at 10, families are welcome to come late and stay as long as they are able. At 11:00 each week, we will have a special program for 30-45 minutes. After the program, families can continue checking out books or finishing up craft activities until around noon. Registration will open June 3. The last day to register is June 27. No late registration, please…we need time to purchase supplies and prepare crafts. Please register by calling the library at 815-457-2452 or coming to the library. You do not need to attend every week, but if you know you will be gone, please let us know so we can make adjustments. More information will be shared in the Cissna Park News and on our social media pages in the upcoming weeks.
